Gion Shinbashi Kawakatsu is a dining establishment in Gion, Kyoto that mainly offers meat dishes.

Considering the client’s personality, the cuisine on offer, and the Gion area, we composed the design to create a space somewhat like a hideaway for men who are familiar with quality.
The walls, floor and ceiling have been finished in plaster with sumi (Japanese ink) added, and the counter with its dynamic grain, as well as brass, bronze and zinc plating, have been used as feature points of the space without restraining the power expressed by the metals.

We have aimed to complement each carefully prepared and arranged dish with a decoration in the form of space.
